Itanagar, Nov 02:More than 1,680 villages in Arunachal Pradesh will be covered with 4G telecom services by December 2023, central officers said at a meeting here on Tuesday.

The Additional Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Communication VL Kantha Rao in conjunction with Deputy Director General, Universal Service Obligation fund(USOF) cum Joint Secretary Sunil Kumar Verma took a meeting with the telecom service providers, Airtel and BSNL in Tawang.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of offices and representatives from the army and para-military forces.

The state government in a statement stated Additional Secretary cum Administrator USOF informed that the fund amassed from telecom provider carriers beneath neath USOF is used to cater telecom offerings to the faraway villages of the country, and this excursion to Arunachal Pradesh is to bodily checkout and make sure that the initiatives taken up withinside the kingdom are being applied nicely.

He is similarly informed that 1683 villages in the Arunachal Pradesh kingdom may be included with 4G offerings via way of means of December 2023.
