Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu takes financial measures, and said that the state will leave no stones unturned to make sure that Covid-19 has the least amount of impact on the state’s economy.

Talking on the financial status of the state amidst the nationwide lockdown Chief Minister Khandu said that in current times the state is not facing any such financial troubles due to which it wouldn’t be able to pay salary to government employees.

However, he has also expressed his concern regarding the future situation. He said that the financial conditions will surely lead to some hardships in the coming days and the state will face problems in taking up bigger and newer developmental projects.

But again, instructions have been given to the State Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Chowna Mein to conduct meetings with the finance department and make plans about how to go about with the ongoing schemes keeping in mind the state’s financial capacity.

Khandu tweeted, “Taking every step to ensure that COVID-19 has minimum impact on the economy.”

Welcoming the Rs. 20 lakh crore economic stimulus package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deal with Covid-19, Chief Minister Khandu has thanked him saying that this will benefit the people of Northeast and Arunachal soon.

Addressing a press briefing he said, “I would like to thank honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji on behalf of the people and the government of Arunachal, as in this challenging Covid-19 situation he has announced a historical package of Rs 20 lakh crore.”

“He has also talked about initiating “Atmanirbhar Bharat Yojna” or a self-reliant movement. I believe that in the incoming days this will benefit North East and Arunachal in several ways.” he added as he went on to say that on several occasions he too has emphasized on the importance of self-reliance for Arunachal Pradesh. This will largely benefit entrepreneurs in the state and also result in employment generation, he said.
