Itanagar, March 30: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein secured victory unopposed from the Chowkham constituency on March 30, consolidating his position in the state’s political landscape.

This uncontested win mirrored the trend seen across the state, with Chief Minister Pema Khandu also clinching victory unopposed to the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

The electoral landscape further witnessed Dasanglu Pul, revered as the “Iron Lady” of Anjaw district, emerging victorious unopposed as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the 45th Hayuliang Assembly Constituency.

Pul’s uncontested victory came after her sole opponent, Bafutso Krong of the Congress party, withdrew from the race.

The electoral proceedings unfolded at the Chief Electoral Office in the Hawai district headquarters of Anjaw, situated along the China border. With no contenders challenging her candidacy, Dasanglu Pul’s triumph marked a significant milestone in her political journey.

Additionally, the BJP candidate from the 13th Itanagar Assembly constituency, Techi Kaso, clinched victory unopposed after the rejection of the nomination of NNP candidate Tai Tadap by the CEO.

Recent updates reveal a total of five candidates securing uncontested wins, including Jikke Tako from Tali, Nyato Dukom from Taliha, Ratu Techi from Sagalee, and Mutchu Mithi from Roing Assembly constituencies.

Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, renowned for his three-decade-long tenure as MLA from Sagalee, chose to vie for parliamentary elections this time, filing his nomination from Aalo.
