Itanagar, Jan 04: The Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh police arrested Loter Gadi and his brother Lotu Gadi in reference to the APPSC-2017 cash-for-job scam in Anini of Dibang Valley District of the state.

SP (SIC) Anant Mittal informed that both arrested are brothers and have been serving as government officials, and as such, the total number of arrested persons in the case is now 39. Loter Gadi (31) and Lotu Gadi (38) served as statistical Investigators and Junior Engineers (JE) in Anini of Dibang Valley District respectively.

He stated that a case was earlier registered by one Kesto Loriak and seven other deprived candidates of APPSCCE-2017, following which the SIC amalgamated all complaints related to APPSC-2014 and arrested the duo on January 2 and January 3, 2023.

He also mentioned that after detailed interrogation, and technical and financial analysis of the suspects, the police arrested Loter Gadi and Lotu Gadi.

The arrests so far by the SIC are in connection to the question paper leakage in APPSCCE-2017 and other examinations. The case is registered under SIC (VIG) C/No.12/2022, U/S 120(B)/420/406/409 IPC R/W Sec.7/8/13 (2) PC Act, 1988.

“The investigation is ongoing, and all facts of the case are being investigated in detail. All legal formalities and norms of professionalism are being maintained during the investigation,” he said, adding that SIC is committed to ensuring justice for the aggrieved.
