Guwahati, Oct 19: Assam Police busted yet another terror module backed by Al-Qaeda in the Subcontinent, or AQIS, and arrested two people belonging to Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).

This comes an afternoon after 4 others, inclusive of a madrasa teacher, become arrested on comparable charges, officers stated.

The two men had been arrested on the idea of data supplied through the suspects arrested on Monday. Police sources stated the arrests had been made at some point during raids in Barpeta, Tamulpur, and Nalbari.

Last month, a madrasa become demolished in the Morigaon district over suspected terror hyperlinks. Four madrasas were demolished in Assam because August over alleged hyperlinks with terror clothes and tries to set up “jihadi sleeper cells” in the state.

Earlier, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had stated that Assam had turned out to be a hotbed of “jihadi activities”.

He also announced that religious teachers at mosques and madrasas in the state would be required to register themselves on a government portal if they came from outside the state.

“Our only intention is to see that madrasas are not used for jihadi work,” the Chief Minister had said.

Since this April, Assam Police have arrested extra than 45 people and a strict vigil is being maintained, in particular, withinside the minority-ruled regions of lower and central Assam, with a purpose to thwart any strive through AQIS-sponsored terror modules to disturb peace and harmony.

Many of these arrested had been mosque Imams or instructors at non-public madrasas.
