Guwahati, Nov 12: In a shocking incident that unfolded in Salbari, located in the Baksa district of Assam, a man raised an alarm after discovering a poisonous insect inside a cake he had purchased for his son.
The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of food products and the need for stringent quality control measures.
The concerned individual, Nitul Das, a resident of Saraimari in Baksa district, had bought the cake with the intention of celebrating his son’s special day. However, what was meant to be a joyous occasion turned into a harrowing experience when the family discovered a poisonous insect within the cake just before they were about to partake in the celebration.
Upon making the unsettling discovery, Nitul Das promptly discarded the cake, averting a potentially dangerous situation for his family. The incident has since raised questions about the source of the cake, as it was reported to have been supplied from Tihu.

Expressing his concern, a friend of Nitul Das spoke to the media, stating, “You can find an insect inside this cake. Today at around 1 pm, my friend Nitul bought this cake for his son. An insect was found inside the cake. As per the information, the cake was supplied by Tihu. In the coming days, if such poisonous products are supplied and sold, and later when children consume such poisonous food products, then if something bad happens, who will take the responsibility.”
