Guwahati, June 17: During an extensive eight-hour-long special joint operation, the Assam and Arunachal Pradesh police destroyed a training camp of the National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB). During the operation, the police team could not find anyone in the location.

However, one mobile phone along with a sim card, clothes, sleeping bags, blankets etc was recovered. The team also recovered 5 litres of diesel and kerosene, one tractor without a number plate, one bicycle, and wooden planks.

Superintendent of Police (SIT) Rohit Rajbir Singh stated that the State police on June 5 received the information from Assam Police about the training camp somewhere in the dense jungle of Seijosa under Pakke-Kessang district.

He said that the team of Assam Police led by Assam IGP (Law & Order) Deepak Kumar Kedia, Range DIGP Assam, and SP Biswanath Chariali met the senior officials of State police at the PHQ Itanagar and discussed the entire operation.

“Accordingly, a special team was constituted under the leadership of IGP (Law & Order) Chukhu Apa, SP Special Branch (SB) John Pada, and myself under the overall supervision of DGP RP Upadhyaya,” Singh said.

He said that after ascertaining the information through technical and human surveillance, a team with personnel from both the States consisting of 320 trained personnel was formed for the special task.
