Assam, Jan 15: Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma publicly scolded the deputy commissioner of Nagaon district for blocking the traffic on Nagaon Highway on Saturday.
The Nagaon district and police administration had blocked the movement of vehicular traffic on the highway near the Nagaon college as a security measure for Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
But this did not go down well with the chief minister as he pulled up the Nagaon DC on the matter and ordered him to immediately start traffic movement.
“DC sahab yeh kya natak hai? Gari kyun rukwaya hai. Koi raja maharaja aa raha hai kya? Aisa mat Karo again. Logo ko kasht ho raha hai. Gari jane do (What is this drama DC? Why the vehicles have been stopped? Is a king coming here? This should not happen again. People are suffering. Let the vehicles go),” a visibly angry state CM Sarma told by scolding Nagaon DC.
The Assam chief minister was in Nagaon to attend a function where he declared the Nowgaon College as a state university.
