Guwahati, April 28: Amidst heavy rain showers, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led an electrifying election campaign rally in Kokrajhar to support the UPPL candidate for the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency.

The marathon campaign event spanned three consecutive locations, culminating in Fakiragram, where Chief Minister Sarma, undeterred by the downpour, danced along with the enthusiastic crowd while the anthem “Akou Ebar Modi Sarkar” echoed through the air, with thousands gathered despite the inclement weather.

Despite the rain, the Chief Minister articulated his vision for the region, emphasizing the need for development and progress.

In his speech, Chief Minister Sarma criticized the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), highlighting alleged shortcomings and failures.

He pledged to address issues such as unemployment and infrastructure deficits, promising initiatives including the construction of a Railway Overbridge at Fakiragram and upgrades to the local railway station alongside road development projects.

In a bid to uplift the socio-economic status of the populace, the Chief Minister announced a series of promises, including the provision of ‘Orunodoi’ benefits to families holding ration cards and the commitment to create 50,000 job opportunities.

Additionally, college students were assured of financial support, with a pledge to deposit ten thousand rupees into the accounts of those enrolled in educational institutions.
