Assam COVID-19 cases tally rises to 6000

With 203 new COVID-19 positive cases Assam tally crosses to 6000

Guwahati, June 24: With 203 new positive cases for COVID-19, Assam has crossed 6000 mark in the numbers of positive cases for the deadly virus.

The state has registered 203 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in last 24 hours taking the state tally to 6056.

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state tally in the numbers of COVID-19 positive cases has gone up to 6056 after 203 new cases were detected in the state.

He tweeted – “203 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today. Total cases 6056, Recovered 3762, Active cases 2282, Deaths 09.

According to the Assam government, security personnel, doctors were tested positive for the deadly virus in the state in the last 48 hours.

The state has reported 1050 positive cases for the new virus in the last four days.

The state had registered 249 COVID-19 positive cases on June 20 while 331 cases on June 21, 267 cases on June 22 and 203 cases on June 23.

On the other hand, given the rise of COVID-19 positive cases, the Assam government has imposed total lockdown in the areas of 11 wards in Guwahati from 9 pm on June 23.
