Guwahati, March 06: The Assam government has taken a significant step in ensuring the smooth conduct of the Lok Sabha elections by appointing five officials to oversee the electoral process until its conclusion.
In the interest of public service, these appointed officials will assume responsibility for various aspects of the election process until the Parliamentary Election 2024 is completed. They will be considered deputed to the Election Department/ECI during this period.
Here are the details of the appointed officers along with their current place of posting:

- MD, Jal Jeevan Mission (additional charge)
- Shri Javir Rahul Suresh, IAS
- Joint Secretary, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department
- In-charge Director, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Assam
- Director, Dairy Development, Assam
- Shri Ratul Chandra Pathak, ACS
- Joint Secretary, Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
- Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS
- Joint Secretary, Indigenous Tribal Faith and Culture Department
- Director, Indigenous Tribal Faith and Culture (additional charge).
- Shri Dipu Kumar Deka, ACS
- Joint Secretary, Soil Conservation Department

The appointed officers are instructed to report to the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam immediately for further instructions and to commence their duties in ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of the Lok Sabha elections.
