Assam, Dec 19: All outlets running the trade of Hookah Bar under the jurisdiction of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has been asked to close such activities with immediate effect.
“The government of Assam, through the Guwahati Development Department (GDD), has notified for the closure of all the trades in respect of Hookah Bar operating within the city of Guwahati,” states an order issued by the Commissioner, GMC.
“No further renewal of trade license for Hookah bars will be entertained by Guwahati Municipal Corporation for which the said activities are to be closed within a period of 7 days,” it further added.
Ghanshyam Das, Commissioner of GMC confirmed the development speaking to G Plus.
