Guwahati, Dec 07: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has officially unveiled the schedule for the Higher Secondary (HS) examination in 2024. As per the announcement, the HS exams are slated to commence on February 12, 2024, and will conclude on March 13, 2024.
In addition to the written examinations, the practical examination component will take place from January 24 to February 8, 2024. This comprehensive examination schedule allows for a thorough assessment of students’ theoretical and practical knowledge.
A noteworthy decision made by the AHSEC in November included the introduction of a Pre-Final Test Examination for HS second-year students in December 2023. The examination is set to be conducted across all permitted and recognized institutions under the council’s jurisdiction.

The Heads of these institutions have been entrusted with various responsibilities related to the exam, such as formulating the Pre-Final Exam routine, crafting subject-specific question papers, distributing blank answer scripts, issuance of admit cards, overseeing the evaluation of answer scripts, declaring results, and distributing mark sheets.
This strategic move aims to provide students with a preparatory assessment, allowing them to gauge their readiness for the upcoming HS exams in February 2024.
