flyover

Guwahati, Oct 15: Guwahati’s eagerly awaited Shraddhanjali flyover, spanning the Zoo-Narengi road, is primed for its grand inauguration on Maha Panchami, which falls on October 18, 2023.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially confirmed the inauguration, which is slated to occur between 5:00 to 5:30 pm on the designated date. The foundation stone for this flyover was laid on February 1, 2022, and, remarkably, the entire project has been concluded within a span of just 19 months.

Sarma expressed his optimism that this new flyover, featuring three lanes on either side, will significantly alleviate traffic congestion along the RG Baruah road for at least the next two decades. One of these lanes has been designated for diverting traffic towards Geeta Mandir.

Moreover, a carriageway has been developed beneath the flyover on both sides, effectively expanding its capacity to a seven-lane structure. The flyover has been aptly named Shradhanjali Kanan in honor of this accomplishment.
