Guwahati, Feb 22: The National Board for Wildlife has approved the Assam Mala project road, extending from Chapaguri to Amteka up to the Bhutan border, signaling a significant development in regional infrastructure and development initiatives.
This approval is anticipated to bolster connectivity and facilitate economic growth in the area, contributing to overall progress and prosperity.
Additionally, the NBWL has greenlit several other crucial projects, including an Elevated Corridor near Kaziranga National Park, the Guwahati Ring Road project, and the Narengi – Kurua Bridge, along with the Deepar Beel Railway Elevated Railway Corridor and Deepar Beel Elevated Railway Corridor.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media to express his gratitude for the approval of these pivotal projects, highlighting their importance for the state’s advancement. He thanked Sri @byadavbjp, the Minister for Forest and Environment, for facilitating this significant development.

Earlier announcements by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in 2023 regarding the forthcoming 32-km long elevated corridor at Kaziranga and the Guwahati ring road further reinforce the government’s commitment to modernizing the state’s transportation infrastructure.
In a significant step towards enhancing the road transport network, Gadkari, along with Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, laid the foundation stones for various national highway projects totaling an investment of Rs. 17,500 crore.
These projects encompass a range of initiatives aimed at upgrading and expanding the road network across the state, including the development of new lanes, bypasses, and highways, contributing to improved connectivity and accessibility for residents and travelers alike.
