Guwahati, April 29: Assam Police made a significant breakthrough on April 29 by apprehending Reetom Singh, an individual associated with a fake video implicating Home Minister Amit Shah.
This video, which has been widely disseminated across various social media platforms, stirred controversy and prompted swift action from law enforcement authorities.
The arrest follows heightened scrutiny after Union Minister Kiren Rijiju condemned the Indian National Congress for circulating the deceptive video. Rijiju, on April 29, showcased a split-screen presentation contrasting the fake and authentic versions of the video.
In a scathing rebuke, he denounced the Congress Party’s dissemination of the manipulated footage, emphasizing the detrimental impact of misleading the public. Rijiju underscored that distorting Shah’s statements not only misguides citizens but also undermines the principles of democracy, potentially inciting unrest.
