Guwahati, March 14: Assam government boosts state employees with a 4% DA hike, effective from January 1, 2024, announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The increment will be disbursed in instalments due to the approaching Lok Sabha elections, with the first arrear in May, the second in June, and the third in July.

With this raise, the DA for state employees reaches 50%, offering significant financial relief.

CM Sarma also outlines plans for Grade IV employee recruitment in schools and the inauguration of the Basistha flyover, slated for today.

The six-lane Basistha-Jalukbari stretch of the Guwahati Bypass, completed ahead of schedule, will be inaugurated by CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The project, costing Rs 300 crore, includes four flyovers and a vehicular underpass, promising smoother traffic flow.

Moreover, the Assam government extends special discounts for solar panel users and additional benefits for journalists, aiming to promote sustainable energy practices.
