Assam Unity Mall

Guwahati, Sept 13: The Assam government has allocated Rs 226 crore to construct a Unity Mall (Ekta Mall) in Guwahati. This initiative aims to promote national unity, advance the “Make in India” philosophy, and support the “One District One Product” (ODOP) program. The decision was made during a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The Unity Mall will feature 35 showrooms representing all states and union territories, along with 35 showrooms dedicated to each of Assam’s 35 districts. It will be strategically located near the Assam Trade Promotion Organization Complex in Betkuchi, as outlined by Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah.

This project intends to create a platform for marketing Geographical Indication (GI) products from Assam and the entire northeastern region. Additionally, it aims to promote the “Made in Assam” brand by supporting ODOP initiatives and traditional industries and artisans from all 35 districts.
