Guwahati, Sep 04: The Assam government’s mobile application, ‘Shiksha Setu Axom,’ has been awarded the gold category for excellence in e-governance by the Centre’s Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.

Assam Samagra Siksha Mission Director Om Prakash and Executive Director Sanjoy Dutta received the prestigious award at the National Conference on e-Governance 2024 in Mumbai on September 3.

Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu celebrated the achievement, highlighting Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s vision of making Assam one of the top five states in the country.

In a post on X, he expressed pride in the recognition, stating, “A step towards fulfilling HCM @himantabiswa‘s dream to make Assam among the 5 best states of India. Proud moment for Assam as Shiksha Setu receives national recognition… Congratulations to Dr. Om Prakash and Sri Sanjay Dutta, MD and ED respectively of @Samagra_Assam, and all the officers, teachers, and CRCCs for their support.”

The ‘Shiksha Setu Axom’ app, which has 4.9 million users, sets a new standard for educational governance by using technology for real-time, geo-fenced attendance monitoring of teachers, students, and non-teaching staff.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances awarded a total of nine gold, six silver, and one jury award in the e-governance sector at the conference.
