Ayodhya, Nov 12: Ayodhya marked the seventh Deepotsav with a spectacular celebration, breaking its own world record as over 22 lakh diyas (earthen lamps) illuminated the city on the eve of Diwali. The grand event, graced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, witnessed an appeal for a “historic welcome” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to seat Lord Ram in the grand temple on January 22.
आज पावन अयोध्या जी का कोना-कोना भक्ति की दिव्य आभा की अलौकिक छटा से दीप्त है।
पूज्य संतों के आशीर्वाद व प्रदेश वासियों के सहयोग से 'राममय' अयोध्या में इस वर्ष भी सर्वाधिक दीप प्रज्वलन का विश्व रिकॉर्ड स्थापित हुआ है।

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized the responsibility of Ayodhya’s residents to make the Prime Minister’s visit a historic occasion. He urged the people to commence preparations for the inauguration of the Ram temple, stressing Ayodhya’s significance as Lord Ram’s cherished city.

Adityanath expressed the government’s commitment to transforming Ayodhya into the most beautiful city globally, anticipating a tenfold increase in tourist visits after Makar Sankranti and the temple inauguration next year.

The Deepotsav celebration, which set a new Guinness World Record, saw the lighting of 22,23 lakh diyas on the banks of the Saryu River.
This impressive feat was accomplished by 25,000 volunteers across the 51 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi, with 6.47 lakh more diyas than the previous year. The presence of diplomats from 50 major countries added international significance to the event.

As the Guinness Book of World Records representatives used drones to count the illuminated diyas, Ayodhya reverberated with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’
The recognition of this achievement reaffirms Ayodhya’s place in history as a beacon of cultural and spiritual significance. The event not only celebrated the festival of lights but also symbolized the city’s ongoing transformation and its pivotal role in the construction of the Ram temple.
