Kolkata, March 03: Bengal BJP MP Dilip Ghosh has stirred controversy with his bold claims, targeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) for what he perceives as the state’s deterioration.

In a fiery statement, Ghosh suggested that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi could resolve the Kashmir conflict, he could swiftly quell unrest in Bengal in just two minutes.

Addressing the Sandeshkhali unrest and the delayed arrest of TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan, Ghosh criticized the state government for allegedly shielding criminals and rapists affiliated with the ruling party.

He accused the TMC of neglecting law and order and allowing criminal elements to thrive under its banner.

Ghosh highlighted the delayed action against Shahjahan, suggesting it was a result of pressure from the Opposition and media.

The BJP’s aggressive stance comes amidst preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal.

With 20 out of 42 candidates already announced, the party aims to capitalize on PM Modi’s development initiatives and expand its footprint in the TMC stronghold.

BJP President Amit Shah has set an ambitious target of winning 35 seats in the state, signaling the party’s determination to challenge TMC’s dominance.

The list of BJP candidates includes prominent names like Nisith Pramanik for Cooch Behar, Manoj Tigga for Alipurduars, and Soumitra Khan for Bishnupur, among others. The party’s candidate selection reflects its strategy to appeal to various demographics and communities across the state.

The BJP’s aggressive posture has intensified in the wake of recent incidents, particularly the violence in Sandeshkhali, where TMC’s alleged involvement has drawn sharp criticism.

PM Modi condemned the TMC for protecting Shahjahan, accusing the party of shielding criminals and obstructing justice.

As the political landscape in West Bengal heats up, the BJP’s confrontational approach underscores its determination to challenge the TMC’s authority and address concerns over law and order, development, and governance in the state.

The upcoming elections are poised to be a crucial battleground for both parties, with the BJP seeking to make significant inroads and the TMC striving to maintain its stronghold amidst mounting challenges.
