Imphal, Sept 15: A bomb exploded at the residence of Manipur Minister Khasim Vashum in Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, on Saturday night.

Vashum, who holds portfolios in Veterinary Animal husbandry and Transport is a prominent member of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), which is allied with the ruling BJP in the state.

The explosion took place around 8:40 p.m. on September 14, as per local police reports.

Fortunately, the minister was not at home when the incident occurred. Ukhrul police swiftly arrived at the site to investigate the blast.

No casualties have been reported, but the explosion has heightened concerns about the safety of political leaders in the region. Authorities are conducting further investigations to uncover the motive behind the attack.
