Manipur: Brown sugar drugs worth Rs 1.67 crore, six US-made pistols seized along Indo-Myanmar border

Guwahati, June 12: Manipur police have seized six Glock21 pistols and brown sugar drugs worth Rs 1.67 crore in two separate operations in Moreh area along Indo-Myanmar border.

In the first incident, based on intelligence input, a team of Tengnoupal district police and Commando intercepted a Swift Dzire vehicle bearing registration number of WB-02AF-3805 at Moreh area on Thursday evening.

During checking, the police had recovered six US-made Glock21 pistols, magazines from the vehicle and arrested a person named as Khaijamang Touthang who carried the arms.

Police had recovered six Glock 21-4th Generation Made in USA 9 mm pistols which were hidden inside the gearbox of the vehicle and the M&P Bodyguard 380 Lady Gun 0.38 gun was found hidden inside the Music System of the vehicle.

Police personnel had also recovered 12 magazines of Glocks, two magazines of Lady Gun,12 pair of pistol grip, six Gun Cleaning Rod from the Dash Board of the vehicle.

In a separate operation, a team of Moreh police and Commando had recovered 77 packets of brown sugar weighing 839 grams worth Rs 1.67 crore from a vehicle in Moreh area.

The vehicle was going towards Imphal from Moreh area.

Police personnel had arrested two drug peddlers identified as Vakneihjem Gangte and Jamkhosei.
