Assam: BSF apprehended drug peddler with contraband drugs in Karimganj

Guwahati, Jan 29: The Border Security Force (BSF) seized a huge quantity of contraband drugs and apprehended a drug peddler in the Karimganj district of Assam.

Acting on specific information, the troops of BSF launched an operation and intercepted a four-wheeler near Nandapur tri-junction near Bhanga on National Highway – 37 in Karimganj district, Assam.

After intercepting the vehicle, the Officer-in-Charge of Badarpur police station was informed about the incident and police reached the spot and carried out detailed searching of the vehicle.

On searching of the vehicle, the security personnel had seized 1640 numbers of Yaba tablets and 1.5 kg of cannabis from the vehicle and apprehended a person.

The apprehended person was identified as Abdul Sukkur.
