BSF seized 49 kg ganja from Assam-West Bengal border:
BSF seized ganja at Assam-Bengal border on Wednesday.
Guwahati, April 15: The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel had seized a huge quantity of ganja in two different operations in the bordering areas of the Assam-West Bengal border on Wednesday.
The BSF personnel had seized 49 kg ganja which was supposed to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Acting on tip-off, troops of BSF of Border Out Post (BOP) Jhikri of 192 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in the general area of Jhikri villager under Sahebganj police station in West Bengal’s Coochbehar district and seized 9 kg ganja.
In another operation, based on intelligence input, troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Taraikhana of 38 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in the general area of Taraikhana village under Sahebganj police station in West Bengal’s Coochbehar district on Wednesday and seized 40 kg ganja wrapped with plastic.
The consignment of ganja was trying to be smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Seized Ganja is being handed over to Sahebganj police for further legal action.
BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavors to contain such trans-border crimes.
