CBSE board exams: PM Modi to chair meeting today to discuss all possible options

India, June 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair an important meeting regarding Class 12 CBSE Board Exams today evening. The PM will be briefed on all possible options, as a result of the extensive discussions with all states and the stakeholders, as per the source.

The education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank is likely to announce the government’s final decision Tuesday on conducting the class 12 CBSE board exams.

The ministry had recently sought detailed suggestions from the states and Union Territories on the proposals discussed in a high-level meeting held on the issue.

 

The government has come up with three alternatives

Option A: holding exams for only major subjects.
Option B: holding exams in a new format including short answer-type questions.
Option C: assessing students based on their performance in the past three academic years.

Ramesh Pokhriyal admitted to hospital

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank‘ was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi this morning due to post-Covid complications.

The minister is admitted under Dr Neeraj Nischal, an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), sources told media.

He (Pokhriyal) was admitted due to post-Covid complications on Tuesday morning. He is admitted under Dr Neeraj Nishchal,” as per the source.

The Education Minister had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 21.
