Dibrugarh, March 08: Dibrugarh Police took Superintendent Nipen Das of Central Jail into custody on Thursday night, following the recovery of objectionable items from the custody of inmate Amrit Pal Singh.
The incident stems from the discovery of banned materials, including mobile phones and a spy camera, in the possession of Amrit Pal Singh, the leader of ‘Waris Punjab De,’ who has been detained in Dibrugarh Central Jail since February 17.

Upon uncovering the contraband, Dibrugarh Police launched a thorough investigation, leading to the arrest of Superintendent Nipen Das in connection with the matter.
Nipen Das faces charges under section 13 (1) B of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and section 75 of the Assam Prisons Act.
