China dam

Itanagar, Jan 17: China is constructing a 60,000-megawatt dam at the Yarlung Tsangpo River, according to sources from the Ministry of Power. The under-construction dam is at the Medog border that’s in near proximity to Arunachal Pradesh.

India has involved approximately the development of this dam in China. According to the assets, China can divert the water of the Brahmaputra River after the development of the dam.

Not only this, however preventing the water from this dam, could create a flood-like situation. Sources added that China’s dam may cause water shortages or flood-like situations in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
