Aizawl, Nov 14: In a dramatic development near the Mizoram-Myanmar border, 39 Myanmar Army personnel have been taken into police custody in Mizoram. The incident unfolded as they illegally crossed the Myanmar border, attempting to evade the People’s Defence Force (PDF) pursuing them.
Local sources indicate that there were approximately 60 army personnel in each of the two Myanmar Army camps. Reports suggest that the PDF successfully repelled the Myanmar Army’s efforts, leading to the majority of casualties among the army personnel in the camps. Despite the use of jet fighters and helicopters by the Myanmar Army, the PDF fighters managed to seize control of two Myanmar camps situated on the Mizoram border.
Amidst the escalating conflict, the Young Mizo Association (YMA) has played a crucial role in providing assistance to refugees and those injured in the firing. The YMA sub-headquarters in Champhai demonstrated solidarity by donating 42 units of blood for the injured individuals.

As the situation unfolds, 21 injured individuals, including civilians, have been transported to Champhai District Hospital, with one person succumbing to injuries on the way from Zokhawthar. Eight seriously injured individuals have been referred to Aizawl for advanced treatment, with five already admitted to Trinity Hospital and Ebenezer Hospital. Another three are en route to Aizawl, where they will be received by leaders of the Central Young Mizo Association.
