Guwahati, June 20: A Class 10 girl student had allegedly committed suicide in Assam, Lakhimpur district on Saturday evening.
According to the family members, the meritorious girl student was unhappy with the state government’s decision to cancel the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations given the current COVID-19 situation.
The student was living with her mother at Korson Majkuri village in the Lakhimpur district.
The victim’s mother said that her daughter told her that she is unhappy with the government’s decision on Saturday morning.
“She wished to show a good result in Class 10 final examination. She committed suicide on Saturday evening at around 6 pm. Her father died a few years back,” the victim’s mother said.
