Darjeeling, July 13: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar at the Raj Bhavan in Darjeeling on Wednesday. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present.

The meeting with Governor Jagdeep Dhankar went on for 2 hours and 35 minutes. Assam CM came to Darjeeling as well to call on Bengal Governor Dhankhar at the Raj Bhavan. Mamata met both and termed it as a courtesy call.

After meeting both the CMs, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar shared the news on Twitter and wrote, “West Bengal Governor Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar with Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee and Hon’ble Chief Minister Assam Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma @himantabiswa at Raj Bhawan, Darjeeling.”

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also denied not commenting on Ashok Stambh’s row when asked. Banerjee said, “Let me study the matter first.”

Mamata Banerjee is on a 3-day visit to Darjeeling from July 11. She arrived at Bagdogra Airport near Siliguri and attend the swearing-in ceremony at Darjeeling Chowrasta, popularly known as Mall.
