Itanagar, Sep 06: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu asks the tourist to visit Amazing Arunachal which is waiting for it. CM Pema Khandu shares a glimpse of the sunset from Mariyang in Upper Siang district and said that Every sunset is the beginning of new hope!

“Every sunset is the beginning of new hope! Turn poetical, turn photographer, feel immaculate sunset, for nature has laid green carpet for you and weaved a mystical beauty. Come #AmazingArunachal is waiting.” CM Pema Khandu wrote on Twitter.

Mariyang is a Town in Mariyang Tehsil in the Upper Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located 23 KM South of District headquarters Yingkiong. It is a Tehsil head quarter.

This Place is on the border of the Upper Siang District and East Siang District. East Siang District Riga is west of this place.

Mariyang is the homeland of the Padam, Pasi, and Millang communities located 52 km from the district headquarters, Yingkiong. It is also accessible via Pasighat – Ranaghat road, crossing the river Siang by boat. It is situated at a hillock overlooking the confluence of the river Yammeng and Yamne.

Apart from the scenic beauty, one can go and see Damro village, which is known to be the largest village of Upper Siang (10 Kms from Mariyang).

Pekimodi, which is famous in Adi folklore is 34 Kms away from Mariyang. The Padams, Millangs, and Pasis have a rich traditional culture.

Solung a festival is celebrated in the month of September. During this festival, a traditional dance form namely Ponung is performed by the village belles.
