Cops rescues 51 cattle from India-Bangladesh border

Indo-Bangla Border, Dec 16: The Assam police have rescued 51 cattle from the India-Bangladesh border. According to the source, the cattle were being smuggled out to Bangladesh for butchery.

25 cattle along with boats were caught in the misty Brahmaputra River by Dhubri police, 16 caught by Tamarhat police, 7 by Golakganj police, and three by Nalia police from the village roads and by-lanes.

Further, in continuation with the drive against cattle smuggling, two Buffalo and two cattle have been recovered at Matkhola and Satdubi respectively under South Salmara Mancachar police. A case has been registered under the appropriate section of law in connection with the same.
