COVID19 vaccine can make a person impotent: Samajwadi Party leader

COVID Vaccine, Jan 4: Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Ashutosh Sinha on Saturday claimed that people fear that COVID19 vaccine can make them impotent. Sinha also backed party chief Akhilesh Yadav after the latter had said that he would not get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday tweeted, “Vaccination for Covid-19 is a sensitive exercise and the BJP must not treat it as just another gala event or mega exhibition. The government must make all arrangements fool-proof and well in advance before starting this exercise as it involves human lives. There is no scope for making improvements once the vaccination is done. The Government should also announce the date from which the poor will be vaccinated.”

He also added that the inoculation programme under the BJP-led regime could not be trusted.

I will not take the COVID-19 vaccine at this moment. That too given by Bharatiya Janata Party. How can I trust BJP’s vaccine, no chance? When our government will be formed, everyone will get a free vaccine. We cannot take the BJP vaccine,” said Akhilesh during a press conference in Lucknow.

Yadav’s response comes after Dr Shekhar Mande, Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) said the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and would not have adverse effects and urged people not to hesitate to take it.

Somani said that they would never approve anything if there was even the slightest safety concern. He assured people about the safety of the two COVID19 vaccine by Bharat Biotech and Oxford-AstraZeneca as he gave the final approval for the shots. Somani made the formal announcement approving Serum Institute of India-manufactured Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and indigenously developed Covaxin of Bharat Biotech for restricted emergency use.
