Imphal, Nov 02: District Magistrates of Imphal East and Imphal West have announced the relaxation of curfew restrictions in these areas.
According to the official order, the restrictions on the movement of the general public outside their residences have been temporarily lifted on November 2, 2023, from 10 am to 6 pm in all areas of Imphal West and Imphal East districts. However, it’s important to note that this relaxation does not permit gatherings, sit-in protests, rallies, or any such public assembly without prior approval from the competent authority.
The relaxation of curfew rules will greatly benefit the residents of these districts, allowing them to purchase essential items, including medicines and food, during the specified hours.
It’s essential to understand that this relaxation does not apply to everyone, as certain categories of individuals and services will continue to operate under existing guidelines. Persons engaged in essential services such as healthcare, electricity, public health engineering, petrol pumps, schools, colleges, municipality activities, press and electronic media, court proceedings, and passengers traveling to and from the airport will be exempt from the curfew restrictions.
Additionally, contractors and workers with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) cards will also be allowed to move freely during the curfew hours.
