Deputy Election Commissioner to visit Bengal on Feb 25

Bengal, Feb 22: Ahead of the upcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, Deputy Election Commissioner and in-charge of West Bengal Sudeep Jain is scheduled to visit the state on February 25.

Sudeep Jain to hold a meeting with Divisional Commissioners, Zonal IGs, Range DIGs, SPs, CPs, DEOs of all the district on election preparedness for forthcoming General elections of West Bengal.

The meeting is comprising within the Presidency Division including Howrah, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Nadia, North Kolkata & South Kolkata along with the Medinipur division which includes Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura also Bardhman Division which includes Hooghly, Purba Bardhman, Paschim Bardhman & Birbhum, Malda Divison which comprise with Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur  & Murshidabad and Jalpaiguri Division which has Alipurduar, CoochBehar, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri & Kalimpong.

This is going to be the third visit of the Deputy Election Commissioner in the last two months to Bengal.

Legislative Assembly elections for the 294 seat-West Bengal Legislative Assembly are scheduled to be held in 2021.

The tenure of the current government in West Bengal comes to an end on May 30.
