Imphal, Jan 27: Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh emphasized that state and central forces are working collaboratively to restore tranquility and peace in the northeastern state.

Singh highlighted the existence of coordination committees at both state and district levels to address the situation in the violence-affected state.

Speaking on the sidelines of a Republic Day program, Singh emphasized the ongoing communication and coordination between state and central forces.

He mentioned the regularity of coordination committees, video conferences, and the collective effort to normalize the situation in Manipur.

Singh expressed a commitment to equality among all forces, stressing the collaborative efforts of state and central forces to establish a sense of normalcy in the region.

He reiterated the dedication to working together to achieve this goal as swiftly as possible.

Earlier, on January 23, a three-member special Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) team, led by interlocutor AK Mishra, engaged with members of Arambai Tengol, a Meitei socio-cultural organization in Imphal, the capital of Manipur.

The talks, conducted in two rounds, involved discussions on various issues.

During the meetings, Arambai Tengol presented a demand for the updation of the National Register of Citizenship (NRC) in Manipur, with the base year proposed as 1951, according to highly placed sources.

The demand reflects ongoing discussions and negotiations to address concerns and find solutions within the state.
