Manipur’s Ukhrul

Imphal, Jan 05: Mild tremors measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale were felt in Manipur’s Ukhrul district on Thursday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.

The mild earthquake struck around 11:21 am and was measured at 4.2 on the Richter magnitude scale.

The epicenter of the earthquake is said to be on the eastern side of the Ukhrul district of Manipur.

In a tweet late on Thursday, the NCS wrote, “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.2, Occurred on 05-01-2023, 11:21:27 IST, Lat: 24.16 & Long: 95.96, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 172km ESE of Ukhrul, Manipur.”

There were no reports of any damage or loss of lives in Ukhrul and other parts of the state.
