Tura, Feb 26: An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter Scale hit the northeastern State of Meghalaya’s Tura on Sunday morning at 9.49 a.m., according to the National Centre for Seismology.

National Center for Seismology said in a tweet, “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.0, Occurred on 26-02-2023, 09:49:57 IST, Lat: 25.73 & Long: 90.34, Depth: 25 Km, Location: 27km NNE of Tura, Meghalaya.”

State Disaster Management department officials said there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property due to the tremor.
