Kolkata, Nov 05: Virat Kohli, Indian cricket’s iconic figure, is all set to celebrate his 35th birthday in style at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The lush, circular stadium will undoubtedly transform into a massive birthday cake to honor Kohli’s larger-than-life persona. With India riding high on a seven-match winning streak under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, they appear nearly invincible on the cricket field.
On the eve of Kohli’s birthday, all eyes were on the man himself, as an optional practice session was held at Eden Gardens. While the fast bowlers opted to rest, Kohli, Rohit, and a few others joined the practice.

Those fortunate enough to be closer to the action in ‘B’ Block chanted “Happy birthday” each time Kohli glanced in their direction.
Adding to the excitement, the Cricket Association of Bengal plans to present Kohli with a gold-plated bat to commemorate the occasion. Cricket enthusiasts are also eagerly anticipating Kohli’s 49th century, which would elevate him to the same legendary status as Sachin Tendulkar.

Kohli’s track record at Eden Gardens, although not as remarkable as his overall career statistics, is still impressive. He boasts an average of 47.14 in ODIs at this venue, including a century against Sri Lanka in December 2009.
Furthermore, Kohli may showcase his bowling skills during the match. Coach Rahul Dravid has praised him as a “wrong-footed, in-swinging menace” when discussing India’s options for a sixth bowler. Dravid even revealed that they came close to giving Kohli an over during the last match against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium.
