Meghalaya manifesto

Shillong, Feb 15: BJP President JP Nadda on Wednesday released the party’s election manifesto – ‘Sankalp Patra’ for Meghalaya in the state capital Shillong. The manifesto promises implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in Meghalaya and the timely disbursal of salaries of government employees.

“There is a great scope for the State to prosper, and we look forward to taking it to new heights under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” Nadda said.

BJP chief Nadda said, “We will implement the 7th Pay Commission in Meghalaya and the salaries of the govt employees will be disbursed in time.”

Nadda also added that the amount paid to farmers under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi will be increased by Rs 2000 and a bond of Rs 50,000 will be given on the birth of a girl child.

“… (we’ll) provide free education to girls from kindergarten to post-graduation,” he added.

He said, “We will also launch a support scheme of financial assistance of Rs 24,000 annually to dependant widows and single mothers to empower them. Two LPG cylinders annually will be given to Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries.”
