Aizawl, Nov 05: Mizoram’s ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) president and Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Saturday said that ethnic Mizos from across the international borders and neighbouring state of Manipur taking shelter in Mizoram are feeling safe under the MNF government.
Addressing a public meeting to mark the closing of the MNF party campaign at Thuampui neighbourhood within his Aizawl East-1 assembly constituency, Zoramthanga said that the tens of thousands of refugees and internally displaced people might have faced several dangers if the MNF had not been in power in the state.
Though the last date for campaigning ends at 4 pm on Sunday, all the political parties close their campaigning on Saturday due to the fact that Sunday is a sacred and holy day for Christians.

He also said that the efforts made by his government in protecting the interstate border areas were commendable and the people will remember what the MNF government did in regards to protecting the Assam border areas.
