Shillong Aug 16: Former Meghalaya Chief Minister Salseng C Marak, aged 82, passed away on Friday due to age-related ailments, as confirmed by his family.
He died at Tura Civil Hospital, where he was under treatment.
Born in 1941, Marak made history as the first chief minister of Meghalaya to complete a full five-year term in 1993.

However, he also served the shortest tenure as chief minister, lasting only 12 days in 1998 due to the collapse of the Congress-led coalition.
