Weather Update, Aug 16: Heavy rain is forecasted for Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand over the next 2-3 days due to a low-pressure area forming in the northwestern Bay of Bengal, which could intensify in the coming days.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this system is expected to move west-northwest, impacting Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand.
The IMD warns that the cyclonic circulation linked to this low-pressure area could trigger significant weather changes, leading to increased rainfall and potential flooding.
