Guwahati, August 10: While the positive cases for COVID-19 are rising in the state, the Assam government has offered to the patients for opting home isolation facilities.

Patients from Guwahati who want to stay in home isolation will now get a pulse oximeter and first-line supportive medicine completely at free of cost and this facility has started in Guwahati city from Monday.

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that – “we will provide patient preferring to stay in home isolation a pulse oximeter and first-line supportive medicine completely free in Guwahati City. We have also activated the Tele Medicine service for them through 104. will expand it further to other places soon.

Assam has so far registered 58,837 positive cases for COVID-19.

In the last 24 hours, 1123 positive cases for the new virus have been detected in the state and out of which 240 cases have been detected in Kamrup (Metro) district alone.

According to the state Health Department, 42,325 patients have been cured and discharged from the hospitals so far and the state has now 16,364 active COVID-19 positive cases.

On the other hand, 145 persons have died due to COVID-19 infections in the state so far.
