Pallel firing

Tengnoupal, Sept 08: Heavy firing incidents have unfolded in Pallel, a town located in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district. The skirmish began on a Friday morning when armed individuals from the valley opened fire on security forces stationed near Molnoi, close to Pallel.

As the gunfire erupted, a crowd swiftly gathered in the vicinity. Among them were the Meitei women vigilantes, often referred to as Meira Paibis, who took action by blocking the nearby road in response to the situation.

Government sources report that additional security forces have been deployed to address the ongoing situation, which remains fluid and unpredictable.
