Ahmedabad, Nov 19: The highly anticipated final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is set to take place on November 19 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, where India will face off against Australia.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the details of the closing ceremony, promising a grand spectacle for cricket enthusiasts. The event will feature a diverse range of performances and notable guests, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, making it a memorable occasion.

The closing ceremony is planned as a four-part extravaganza, with an impressive lineup of artists and entertainers. A group of 500 dancers from Mumbai is slated to groove to popular Bollywood songs, adding a vibrant touch to the proceedings. The ceremony is scheduled to commence at 12:30 pm (IST), promising a day filled with music, lights, and celebrations.

Aditya Gadhvi, renowned for his soulful performance on Coke Studio and the hit song ‘Gotilo,’ will take the stage during the first innings drinks break. Following this, a lineup of accomplished vocalists, including Jonita Gandhi, Nakash Aziz, Amit Mishra, Akasa Singh, Tushar Joshi, and more, will serenade the audience with their melodious tunes.

The mid-innings break promises a spectacular performance by music composer Pritam and a group of vocalists. They will showcase their talents on specially designed float vehicles, circling the pitch while 500 dancers create captivating shapes. The 10-minute set is expected to feature popular songs like ‘Deva Deva,’ ‘Kesariya,’ ‘Lehra Do,’ and ‘Jeetega Jeetega,’ adding a musical flair to the cricketing event.

Despite earlier reports, it has been clarified that Hollywood singer Dua Lipa will not be attending the match.

In a touching tribute, the BCCI plans to honor the World Cup-winning captains of both countries during the break. Kapil Dev, captain of the 1983 winning team, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of the 2011 winning team, will be part of this special moment.

Ahead of the grand event, Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel conducted a high-level meeting to review preparations, ensuring all aspects, including security, sanitation, and traffic management, are meticulously arranged for a smooth and successful match in Ahmedabad.
