In 2021, ASDM launches New Look in New Normal!

Assam, Jan 9: Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) has started its training Centre to help the students with their practical experience in this new normal life.

The institute has shared a glimpse of the training centers on its official Twitter account.

ASDM’s trainees are gaining practical knowledge at ‘New Look’, Training Centre, Darrang for the two job roles of Jacquard Weaving and Hair-stylist,” shared by the institute.

Not only the training but the online interview has also started in different sectors.

ASDM shared the post on Twitter and wrote “India going digital can be seen at ASDM’s Training Center, Jazzy – and Educational Society, where the student of Aviation is giving an online interview conducted by Radisson Blu, Mysore.”

Under four separate schemes, the Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) has so far trained 77,311 youths, of which 43,770 have been placed. The youths were trained through 193 training partners in 761 centers across 35 sectors and 179 job roles.

Placement Linked Skill Development Training Program (PLSDTP):

ASDM has initiated a State-Sponsored Skill Development Training Program primarily aiming at training the youth of the state and offering them placements. The program is run on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model. Training Partners are empaneled by ASDM after evaluation of their credentials and proposal.

 

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 2.0 (PMKVY 2.0):

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 2.0 is one of the flagship program run by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship was launched under the scheme of ‘Skill India’. In the state of Assam, the program is implemented by the Assam Skill Development Mission. The objective of this program is to enable the youths to take up various industry-relevant skill training that will help them secure a sustainable livelihood.

 

Advanced Skill Training Institute:

Advance Skill Training Institutes (ASTI) are envisaged as sector-specific Centres of skill training, set up in collaboration with industry partners or associations, to drive skill development, apprenticeship, incubation centers, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), setting up of Skill Training Institutes & entrepreneurship enablement. The industries may invest and set upstate the art centers to provide the candidates, with hands-on training, that are as per the industry standards. The Centres would target skill upgradation of the workforce which will make them ready for absorption in the industry.

The centers were launched in December 2017, with a vision to provide Short Term Training to the youth so it helps them to gain employment in the state, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all the training centers across the state were closed from March 2020.
