Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted people on the country’s 76th Independence Day. “Greetings on this very special Independence Day. Jai Hind!” the prime minister said in a tweet.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu greeted the people of India on the occasion of 75th Independence Day.

He said “My dear people of Arunachal Pradesh, we’re born with a dream to see our Motherland marching ahead without any prejudice. In the past 75 years, we’ve demonstrated our unwavering commitment to being the custodian of equality, justice, fraternity, and our rich cultural legacy! Today India is leaving nothing unturned to ensure no one is left out, thanks to the decisive leadership of Hon PM Shri @narendramodi Ji. A resurgent & rising Arunachal has also achieved multiple milestones in the past 6 years. We’ll achieve many more in days to come!”

The August 15 ceremony is particularly significant this year as it marks the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, with the government launching a host of exercises to add to the verve around the celebration.
