Indian Army celebrates ‘Tamla-Du’ festival in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal, Feb 17: Indian Army personnel celebrated the 51st Tamla-Du festival in Arunachal Pradesh’s Anjaw district alongside the Digaru Mishmi community.

The festival is one of the most popular festivals celebrated by the Digaru Mishmis. It began on February 13 and concluded on February 15.

Troops of the Indian Army took part by showcasing various cultural dance forms. They also conducted an army band and weapon display at Khoraliang Tamla-Du Ground in Tezu.

Tamladu Festival is a prayer that is offered to the God of Earth and the God of Water. The tribal people believe in nature worship and according to their belief, nature protects them from natural calamities. The supreme god of the tribe is Lord Jebmalu.
